Aerolase Laser Treatments at Rejuvence Clinic, London
Welcome to Rejuvence Clinic, situated in the bustling heart of Canary Wharf, London. We are proud to offer the state-of-the-art Aerolase treatment, a versatile laser therapy designed to address a wide range of skin concerns. Using advanced technology, Aerolase provides effective, comfortable, and non-invasive treatments suitable for all skin types and ages.
What is Aerolase?
Aerolase is an award-winning American laser manufacturer known for its innovative devices, including the Neo Elite and Era Elite lasers. These devices employ patented 650-microsecond and 300-microsecond laser pulse technology, delivering precise energy to target tissues with minimal discomfort and downtime. This makes Aerolase treatments ideal for patients seeking a uniquely gentle, highly efficacious and comprehensive medical grade laser treatment for their skin concerns.
Aerolase NEO Elite at Rejuvence Clinic
The Aerolase Neo Elite utilises a 1064 nm wavelength laser, which is highly effective for a variety of skin conditions. This wavelength is ideal for deep penetration, targeting structures such as blood vessels, melanin, and hair follicles without damaging the surrounding skin. One of the defining features of the Neo Elite is its 650-microsecond pulse duration, which allows for fast and highly precise energy delivery. This ultra-short pulse duration minimises thermal damage to the surrounding tissues while still providing enough energy to effectively treat target areas.
The Aerolase Neo Elite is a non-ablative laser. This means laser treatments with this device do not remove the epidermis (top layer of the skin) but still causes energy to be transferred to the deeper layers of skin triggering the production of collagen and elastin as well impacting blood vessels and hair follicles. Combination of all these effects means the Neo Elite can be used in a variety of skin types and for a variety of conditions safely and effectively.
Skin Types and Safety
Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-VI (all skin types)
The Neo Elite is safe and effective for all skin types, from light to dark, including patients with Fitzpatrick Skin Types IV-VI (Asian and Afro-Carribean), who are often more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The 1064 nm wavelength is absorbed less by melanin, reducing the risk of pigmentation issues in darker skin tones.
Pain Management and Patient Comfort
The 650-microsecond pulse duration allows for minimal pain and discomfort during treatment. This is because the energy is delivered rapidly, so the skin’s nerve receptors don’t have time to register it as painful heat. Many patients report that the treatment is more comfortable compared to longer-pulse lasers, and most treatments do not require topical anaesthetics.

Aerolase ERA Elite Skin Resurfacing at Rejuvence Clinic
Laser skin resurfacing is considered the gold standard option for rejuvenation of the skin’s texture, tone and elasticity, especially when it comes to the face. For many years Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Lasers, with a wavelength of 10600nm, have been the only laser available for laser skin rejuvenation but is associated with significant side effects especially in skin of colour including post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, painful treatment sessions and a prolonged downtime.
The Aerolase Era Elite is an Erbium:YAG high precision 2940 nm laser that delivers a high energy beam in a safe fashion. The Era is able to perform fully ablative treatments with less pain, shorter downtime and safely in all skin types. It utilises a gentle 300-microsecond pulse duration. The Era allows for precision targeting of different areas of the face and body with the ability to tailor the depth of laser penetration for different areas.
The Aerolase Era Elite is an ablative laser. An ablative laser vapourises the top layer of the skin (epidermis) resulting in rejuvenation as a result of re-epithelialisation of the skin and the stimulation of new collagen.
Resurfacing with LESS pain and downtime
The Era Elite can correct a variety of imperfections to reveal more youthful-looking skin. The Era can improve tone and texture, shrink large pores, reduce rhytides and wrinkles as well as fade sun damage.
Offers full treatment control
The Era Elite provides precise depth control to tailor treatments to each patient’s needs. The Era can perform a superficial ablation for refreshing and smoothing the skin and is great for large pores and uneven skin texture. Medium ablation is perfect for minimal to moderate sun damage. A deep ablation is able to completely renew the skin’s epidermis and gives dramatic results ideal for deeper lines, skin growths and scars, especially acne scars.

Reverse by Aerolase - The Utimate Dermatological Laser Therapy
The unique combination of Aerolase Neo Elite followed by Era Elite in a single treatment session is the ultimate dermatological laser therapy when it comes to addressing dermal and epidermal skin conditions. It is safe in all skin types including Asian and Afro-Carribean skin.
The Neo Elite is carried out first. This non-ablative 1064nm laser delivered in 650-microsecond pulses penetrates the dermis deeply and is able to trigger collagen stimulation. It is able to address hyperpigmentation as well as associated redness and yet gentle enough to allow for an ablative treatment with Era Elite immediately afterwards. Neo Elite is able to eliminate and/or improve acne, melasma and hyperpigmentation, rosacea, excess hair growth and pigmented lesions.
The Era Elite is the second step in this rejuvenating process and to be started immediately after the Neo Elite. The Era Elite is a full-field 2940 ablative energy device that emits a 300 microsecond pulse. This can help with smooth, youthful skin and help to improve wrinkles, fine lines, scars and acne scars, solar keratoses and generally aging skin.
Essentially Neo Elite’s Nd:YAG penetrates deep into the deeper dermis layer of the skin and stimulates new collagen and elastin. The Era Elite removes the tough superficial layers of the skin known as the stratum corneum and upper epidermis, helping to regenerate new soft tissue.
Conditions Treated by Aerolase at Rejuvence Clinic
The Aerolase Neo Elite is renowned for its ability to treat a broad spectrum of skin conditions due to its versatile settings and unique technology. Treatment can be combined with the Aerolase Era Elite to offer excellent rejuvenation and tightening of the skin. Here are the conditions and how the laser achieves results:
Acne
Acne is a common skin condition that arises from hair follicles and their associated sebaceous glands as they become clogged with oil (sebum) and dead skin cells. The Neo Elite laser delivers energy directly into the sebaceous glands, reducing inflammation, killing P. acnes bacteria, and normalising sebum production. The laser also stimulates collagen remodelling in areas with acne scars, leading to a reduction in scar appearance. This treatment not only addresses active acne but also helps prevent future breakouts, providing a clear and healthy complexion.
With the NeoClear treatments, one should expect to have 4-6 sessions, each lasting 20-30 minutes 1-2 weeks apart. Results are expected to be seen by the end of this treatment course, with 87% spot reduction reported at 90 days after treatment (Acne Clear Skin • Aerolase)
Acne can leave significant scarring on the face and even the upper back and chest. Aerolase Era Elite can be combined with Neo Elite to offer a fully ablative resurfacing treatment to help improve contours and poor skin texture and skin tone. The unique ‘Reverse Neo’ protocol combines Neo and Era in a single session to offer excellent results.

Vascular Lesions
Haemangiomas are benign vascular birthmarks caused by an abnormal build-up of blood vessels in the skin. Spider veins represent finer, dilated blood vessels that appear close to the surface of the skin. They typically appear as red, blue, or purple in a (spider’s) web-like pattern. The Neo Elite effectively targets blood vessels by selectively heating the haemoglobin within them, causing the vessels to coagulate and collapse. These vessels are eventually absorbed by the body, significantly reducing the appearance of vascular lesions.
One can expect to see results soon after a single session with most spider veins, telangiectasia and small haemangiomas. Larger lesions, complex vascular birthmarks and malformations require a bespoke treatment plan.

Melasma
Melasma is amongst the most common causes of dark (hyperpigmented) patches on the face. It is usually symmetrical, blotchy, brownish pigmentation particularly on the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, and chin. It is often triggered by hormonal changes, sun exposure, and certain medications. Aerolase Neo Elite selectively targets the melanin in pigmented lesions, which is gradually absorbed and eliminated by the body’s natural processes.
Melasma treatment regimens would be formulated at our initial consultation, but typically 2-3 treatments are required, more for very extensive lesions. One should expect darkening of the areas initially with results being apparent from 3-4 weeks into treatments as the pigmentation sheds off. For even better results it is possible to carry out a Reverse Neo treatment combining Aerolase Neo Elite and Era Elite together in a single session. The ablative Era can help to resurface the skin following deep dermal treatment by Neo Elite to lift the pigment.

Hyperpigmentation (including post-inflammatory)
Years of sun exposure can lead to the development of sunspots, age spots, and areas of uneven pigmentation. Many inflammatory skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, hives, burns, scars, infections, insect bites and many more) often leave behind a patch of hyperpigmented skin which may persist for years after they have “healed”. The Aerolase Neo Elite delivers targeted energy to pigmented areas, breaking down the melanin that causes discoloration. Over time, these dark spots fade away, revealing a clearer and more even skin tone. This treatment is gentle enough for sensitive skin yet powerful enough to tackle stubborn pigmentation issues.
Hyperpigmentation is hugely variable in its presentation with respect to depth, intensity and the causative factors, this impacts the number of sessions needed and when to expect to see results. We would devise a bespoke, joint management plan at our initial consultation. As with melasma above, the lesion(s) typically darkens post treatment and eventually fades around 4 weeks.
Fungal Nail Infections
Fungal nail infections, also known as onychomycosis, often present with brittle nails which are discoloured, thick and in some cases, also painful. They are notoriously stubborn and very cumbersome to treat with traditional topical and oral antifungal agents. Often the results are disappointing and the time it takes to see a change very protracted. The Aerolase laser effectively penetrates the nail to target the fungal infection, which it disrupts through the powerful heat emitted without causing damage to the surrounding tissue.
After your treatment, of which we would expect 2-4 sessions, you’ll be able to resume your normal, daily activities with minimal to no downtime or recovery period. We’d recommend not wearing closed toe footwear for 2 days post treatment. Your results won’t be immediate, as it takes anywhere from 3-12 months for the new, non-infected nail to grow.

Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a genetically determined, common, inflammatory skin condition characterised by chronic, sharply demarcated, dull-red, scaly plaques/patches. The Neo Elite works to calm the skin, reduce scaling, and encourage healing with or without the use of topical steroids or medications. This treatment provides relief from symptoms and improves the skin’s appearance. Aerolase Neo Elite is FDA approved for the treatment of Psoriasis with multiple published studies on its efficacy.
Devising a treatment plan would consider the number of areas involved, plaque size, thickness of scale and degree of inflammation. This would determine the session duration and frequency, with minimal to no downtime expected after each treatment. Many patients experience at least 25% clearance after only 2 treatments (Psoriasis • Aerolase), with it also reported dramatically better after 5 treatments (Psoriasis • Aerolase).

Rosacea & Redness
Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin condition that causes redness, flushing, and visible blood vessels on the face. In its most severe form, it can be very bothersome with a sense of burning and discomfort with superimposed acne like breakouts also. The Neo Elite laser targets the vascular abnormalities responsible for rosacea. Its deep penetration targets the dilated blood vessels that cause redness, shrinking them without damaging the surrounding tissue. This significantly reduces flushing and redness, offering long-lasting relief from rosacea symptoms and improving the overall tone and texture of the skin.
It is imperative to appreciate that rosacea is a chronic condition, heavily influenced by both genetic and environmental triggers, which can only be managed rather than cured. Typically, 2–3 treatments are required to see clinically significant results, with the experience being quick, easy, and comfortable whilst gleaning impressive results without any extensive downtime.

Ingrown Hair & Razor Bumps
The Neo Elite laser effectively targets the root cause of ingrown hairs and razor bumps by removing unwanted hair and reducing inflammation in the hair follicles. The laser energy is absorbed by the hair follicles, destroying them and preventing future hair growth. This not only eliminates ingrown hairs but also leaves the skin smoother and clearer.
We’d expect to see results after 2-3 sessions, but this varies based on the size, location and severity of the lesions.

Warts, Moles, Skin Tags & Millia
Warts are caused by a viral infection in the skin. The Aerolase laser targets the blood supply to the wart, causing it to shrink and eventually fall off. This modality is less painful than traditional wart removal methods, and the laser treatment avoids the damage or destruction of adjacent skin tissue – which can be significant when surgical excision is used on plantar warts of the feet and other larger warts.
One should expect a minimum of 2 (and potentially more for larger/plantar/genital warts) sessions before seeing successful wart removal. Sessions are usually on a weekly interval. Combining Neo Elite with Era Elite can be helpful in the removal of stubborn tags and skin lesions associated with viral warts.
For moles and millia on the face and other parts of the body Aerolase Era Elite is able to offer full ablation and can completely remove these lesions without the need for more invasive techniques such as surgery. Resurfacing of the under eye area can remove millia and xanthelasmas from excessive cholesterol deposits safely and effectively.

Anti-Ageing – Aerolase Neo & Era Skin Rejuvenation
As we age, our skin loses its natural elasticity, leading to sagging and laxity. Aerolase offers comprehensive anti-ageing treatments by addressing fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. The deep dermal heating provided by the Neo Elite promotes neocollagenesis — the production of new collagen. This process helps tighten the skin, smooth out wrinkles, and improve overall skin tone and texture.
NeoSkin by Aerolase is a highly bespoke treatment protocol. We recommend a thorough skin consultation with our skincare experts to help devise this. Each session typically lasts 30-45 mins and involves passing the laser over the desired area globally to stimulate collagen, which helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, lax skin, and pores and improve overall tone & texture. We offer this typically for the face and/or neck area(s) and typically expect to deliver 4-6 sessions.
To augment results even further, for a deeper and more comprehensive anti-ageing option, we can also combine sessions with the Era Elite by Aerolase in line with the very popular “Reverse by Aerolase” (Neo + Era). The ablative Era Elite Laser is able to offer a complete resurfacing solution that is safe in all skin types and can be precisely targeted to minimise unwanted downtime and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Era helps with skin texture, tone, enlarged pores, skin tightening as well as further evening of skin tone and facial rejuvenation

Aerolase Laser Treatment for Post-operative, Hypertrophic & Keloid Scars
The Aerolase Neo Elite and Era Elite have been used extensively in the treatment of different types of scars and have demonstrated tremendous success in improving cosmetic outcomes.
Neo Elite is a non-ablative laser that has been found to be very effective in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars. Specifically Neo Elite has two effects on these scars. Firstly it is able to generate heat in the deeper dermis of the skin without damaging the surface or tissues around. This heat results in the breakdown of collagen and ultimately shrinkage of the scar tissue. In addition Neo Elite is able to target the deeper vessels supplying hypertrophic and keloid scars. This results in coagulation and a reduction in blood supply helping with shrinkage and preventing growth of such scars.
Era Elite is a fully ablative laser that can be combined with Neo Elite in a Reverse Neo protocol or on its own following a number of initial Neo Elite sessions to help improve skin texture, tone and tightness in a variety of scars. Early treatment of post-operative scars with Era Elite can help to limit the extension of and hypertrophic growth of scars especially in those at risk of keloids.
At Rejuvence Clinic we specialise in the treatment of hypertrophic and keloid scars associated with a variety of conditions. We are able to use the Aerolase Neo Elite and Era Elite for the treatment of keloid and hypertrophic scars associated with surgery, burns, acne and in-grown hairs.
The Aerolase Treatment Process at Rejuvence Clinic
Consultation
Your journey begins with a thorough consultation at Rejuvence Clinic. Our experienced practitioners, led by Dr Naeem Mitha, will assess your skin concerns and determine the most suitable Aerolase treatment for you.
Treatment
The Aerolase treatment is contactless, meaning the laser device does not touch your skin, ensuring a hygienic and comfortable experience. Each session typically lasts between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. The procedure involves minimal discomfort, with most patients describing a mild warming sensation.
Post-Treatment Care
One of the major advantages of Aerolase treatments is that there is no downtime. You can return to your normal activities immediately after the session. However, it is recommended to use a high-SPF sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure until any redness subsides, usually within a few hours.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments required varies depending on the condition being treated and individual patient response. Generally, a series of 4-6 sessions spaced 2-5 weeks apart is recommended to achieve optimal results. During your consultation, our practitioners will develop a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.
