Nose - Non Surgical Rhinoplasty With Dermal Filler Treatments in London, UK

Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers have made it possible to correct certain deformities of the nose that were previously only possible with a surgical nose job (rhinoplasty). Many men and women have anxieties and embarrassment associated with a nose with humps and bumps or indeed have sustained a broken nose in the past that hasn’t healed properly. Whilst fillers cannot help to make the nose smaller within the facial frame it can help to smooth over bumps over the nose and also help to bring the tip of the nose upwards slightly. Fillers can also be used to narrow the nose. This is a fantastic alternative for those who have anxieties about the way their nose looks but are not keen to go under the knife and are looking for a quick fix with minimal downtime.

What dermal fillers can be used for the nose?

As with the vast majority of other dermal filler treatments hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are usually first choice. They can be moulded very easily, have an excellent safety record and can also be easily removed using hyalase. An alternative to hyaluronic acid is calcium hydroxyapatite filler (RadiesseTM) which consists of small calcium based crystals very similar to the cartilaginous structure of the nose itself. This approach is very popular in the US. At Rejuvence Clinic we prefer hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.

The use of dermal fillers for the correction of a dorsal hump and improvement of the nasal profile is a complex procedure and should not be underestimated. As with all dermal filler treatments it is best to get treatment from an experienced and fully trained cosmetic doctor to ensure a good result and most importantly avoid any serious complications. There is a complex arrangement of small veins that run across the bridge and spine of the nose. Inadvertent injection of filler into any of these can result in loss of blood supply to certain parts of the nose. In the worst case scenario problems with vision have been reported. At Rejuvence Clinic all our dermal filler treatments are performed by experienced and fully trained cosmetic doctors who are experts in facial anatomy. You can rest assured that we use the safest techniques and do our utmost to provide you with an excellent result whilst minimising the risk of complications.

Fat transfer is a fantastic new innovation and at Rejuvence Clinic we are able to perform numerous fat transfer and stem cell therapies to volumise and rejuvenate the face. However, in the case of treating the nose and correcting a dorsal hump, fat does not always work very well. This is because when fat cells are injected into the face they require an excellent blood supply that is often only possible when injected into muscle. Although there is a rich blood supply over the bridge and spine of the nose, the fat would be sitting directly on cartilage. Cartilage does not have it’s own blood supply and hence large amounts of fat here may not do particularly well. Therefore we prefer using dermal fillers instead of fat in this area.

Hyaluronic acid dermal filler treatments are not permanent. Results of treatment last on average 9 to 12 months and repeat treatments are required thereafter. In certain cases, with repeat treatments, there is intrinsic collagen and elastin production and hence smaller volumes of filler are needed.

At Rejuvence Clinic we are very experienced in the use of dermal fillers for correction on nasal humps.
